Black Friday for South Africans in the past years has not always been a breeze, with online shopping websites crashing, dealing with long ques at stores and when you eventually manage to get into some stores, you find out the product you wanted to purchase is sold out. Massmart's popular retailer, Makro has taken all this into consideration and hopes to calm the Black Friday craze for scrambling South Africans looking for a deal this year.
A forum running in Johannesburg this week will offer South African small and medium-sized enterprises a chance to network with big businesses such as Old Mutual as they look to develop their ventures, the financial services group said. The Banking Association of South Africa says SMEs have been identified as productive drivers of inclusive economic growth and development in the country and globally.
Residents of Johannesburg and its surrounding areas have been warned to use water sparingly this week as the temperatures soar in Gauteng. Joburg Water spokesperson Isaac Dhludhlu said the warning comes after the South African Weather Service advised residents on Monday to prepare themselves for scorching temperatures especially in Gauteng, parts of the Eastern Cape, Free State, North West and parts of the Garden Route.
