Sex Workers Education and Advocacy Taskforce has welcomed the decision by the African National Congress to fully decriminalise sex work in SA. The announcement was made at a media briefing on the party's social transformation commission resolutions on Wednesday, the last day of the 54th ANC national elective conference at the Nasrec Expo Centre in Soweto, Johannesburg.
A 55-year-old woman from Krugersdorp in Johannesburg is looking forward to spending Christmas with her family after surviving three heart attacks and a stroke. She suffered two heart attacks on September 16 and was transferred to the Netcare Krugersdorp Hospital on September 19 where she suffered another heart attack and a stroke.
South Africa's ruling African National Congress resolved at its 54th national elective conference in Johannesburg to support the implementation of free higher education as announced by President Jacob Zuma last week. “There was a very, very strong call that government must act speedily to implement the free higher education for young people from poor and working class backgrounds, and also to support for families in the middle strata who are unable to meet the full costs of higher education,” chairperson of ANC's subcommittee on education and health, Naledi Pandor, said while addressing journalists at the conference in Johannesburg on Wednesday.
