Bubbles and brunch – Joburg’s hottest Bubble Fest is happening next weekend

25 October 2021 by Alan

MyPR: Bubbles and brunch – Joburg’s hottest Bubble Fest is happening next weekend:

It may be Spring, but it’s beginning to feel a lot like Summer. It’s time to enjoy the warm Sunshine, and cool off with a tall, crisp glass, of ice-cold bubbles and some delectable freshly shucked oysters. Wondering what to do next weekend? Well, wonder no more. The Prawnery, in Illovo Junction, is hosting their first-ever bubble fest, and it’s bound to be a sensorial journey through the most premium MCC’s presently available in South Africa. Think flavoursome canapé’s, the lightest, most premium bubbles from all around the country, feel-good music, a fun-loving, opulent vibe, and more.

Weekend bubbles with friends, over oysters, are the epitome of luxurious living in the city of gold. And after the year we’ve had, we deserve to treat ourselves to the very best that Jozi has to offer, without breaking the bank. So, whether you’re keen to don a pair of your sexiest Louboutins, or better yet, your comfiest Nikes, just ensure you’re at next weekends’ hottest event of the Spring social scene.

Pop on in anytime between the 4th – 6th of November and treat yourself to an intimate event, featuring a bespoke selection of proudly South African MCC’s. Enjoy a round of tastings at each farm, and relish in the opportunity to purchase a select range of vintages, directly from a local farm of your choice.

There will be personalised and artisanal retail offerings, as well as delectable food offerings from all of the restaurants at Illovo Junction. Enter the draw to win a mixed case of MCC, from the featuring local farm. And enjoy the contemporary MCC cocktail bar, with new, interesting, and provocative cocktails. MCC cocktails on a warm, Spring arvi are what we live for these days, and they make for great IG pics too!

The bubble fest will naturally sport a fresh oyster cart, with tantalisingly tasty toppings, which will all pair beautifully with the various MCC’s on offer for the day. Some of the farms you can expect to indulge in, include L’Ormarins, Spier, Simonsig, Wildekrans, and Hazendal to name a few.

Tickets cost R350, per person, per day, and will encompass one round of tastings, at the various premium MCC brands on offer on the day, a goodie bag, and good vibes. The bubble fest is open between 16h00 – 20h00 and tickets can be purchased from Quicket; https://qkt.io/b2HSCe

Details in summary:
Date: 4 – 6 November 2021
Time: 4 – 8pm
Venue: Illovo Junction, 1 Corlett Drive
Cost: Quicket; https://qkt.io/b2HSCe

Alcohol is not for sale to persons under the age of 18. The Prawnery supports responsible drinking and encourages all readers to use driving services, such as Uber or Bolt, and not to drink and drive.

Have you tried: Reach Trust for Solar and Building Management?

Did you know this about Johannesburg? In 1971 the South African Broadcasting Corporation was eventually allowed to introduce a television service. When television was finally introduced, there was only one channel with airtime divided evenly between English and Afrikaans, alternating between the two languages. Test transmissions in Johannesburg began on 5 May 1975, followed in July by ones in Cape Town and Durban. Nationwide services finally commenced on 5 January 1976.

The Carlton Centre Scale

The scale of the Carlton Centre is difficult to grasp from the street level. It is a massive “superblock” that covers an entire city block, and surprisingly, nearly half of its total floor area is underground. Beneath the street lies a sprawling three-level subterranean shopping mall that once housed over 180 shops and an ice-skating rink (the “Sky Rink”) on the 20th floor that was a legendary social hub for generations of Joburgers. The building’s foundations are equally gargantuan, with concrete piles extending 30 meters down to the bedrock to support the millions of tons of steel and glass above.
