Bumper Crop of Arrests

Police Emergency Services members, comprising the Flying Squad, K9 Units and Highway Patrol, conducted operations across Gauteng from Friday, 24 July to Thursday, 30 July 2026. The operations resulted in the arrest of one hundred and thirty-four (134) suspects, as well as the recovery of forty-one (41) motor vehicles and seven (7) firearms.

Members participated in various concentrated operations, vehicle check points, secure escorts and intensive patrols around Gauteng, which led to thirty-eight (38) arrests for serious crimes including assault, possession of suspected stolen property, bribery, possession of unlicensed ammunition, possession of a dangerous weapon, possession of house breaking implements, murder, contravention of a protection order, fraud, malicious damage to property, attempted burglary and contravening the immigration act.

Forty-one (41) hijacked and stolen motor vehicles were recovered with seventeen (17) arrests for the possession of these vehicles. Seven (07) firearms were recovered accompanying eight (08) arrests.

In further policing seventy-one (71) arrests were made for the possession of and dealing in drugs. Heroine, dagga, cat (cocaine), mandrax and crystal methamphetamine were among those confiscated in these separate incidents.

Investigation continues in these cases.

The suspects will be appearing in the local Magistrates courts across Gauteng.
