Cup of Tea Co Offers Stellenbosch-Blended Rooibos and Loose-Leaf Tea to Guesthouses, Offices and Cafés

28 October 2026 by Con Tributor
  • Cup Of Tea Co offers Stellenbosch-blended rooibos and loose-leaf tea to guesthouses, offices and cafés
  • The Stellenbosch blender lists 36 loose-leaf teas, from Classic Red Rooibos to honeybush and chai, with bulk supply, private label and custom blending.

STELLENBOSCH, South Africa – On a guesthouse tea tray in the Winelands, a tired bag of black tea gets noticed. Cup Of Tea Co, which has blended loose-leaf tea in Stellenbosch Central since 2011, has published its range of loose-leaf teas (https://cupof.co.za/teas) with supply options for guesthouses, lodges, office kitchens and gift buyers as well as home drinkers.

Rooibos at the centre

Rooibos leads the range. Classic Red Rooibos is a smooth, naturally caffeine-free cup that stands a longer steep without turning harsh, and around it sit vanilla, citrus, spiced, mint, chai, lavender, apple-cinnamon and morning blends, plus green rooibos for a lighter, grassier taste. Honeybush Comfort is the mild, naturally sweet alternative. Herbal infusions include lemongrass, chamomile, peppermint, hibiscus berry and ginger zest. The black and green teas cover Earl Grey, Breakfast Black, a Ceylon-style black, pure green, jasmine green and a masala chai for stovetop brewing, and peach iced tea and citrus iced rooibos are made for summer. In all there are 36 teas.

“Caffeine-free has stopped being the side order,” said Cup Of Tea Co’s head blender. “Lodges want a rooibos and a honeybush on every tray, because guests drink tea late in the afternoon and after supper. And in coastal towns we tell clients to keep packs sealed. Humidity takes the aroma out of tea quicker than people expect.”

Supply for venues and offices

Guesthouses, lodges, cafés and boutique accommodation can set up ongoing hospitality supply in bulk packs, and offices can arrange recurring restocks for staff kitchens, reception and meeting rooms. The team helps small cafés build a focused tea menu, sets up tea bars for functions, packs wedding favours and corporate gift sets, and runs guided tastings. Private label packing and custom blending are available for clients who want a tea of their own.

Orders travel by courier from Stellenbosch to Cape Town, Somerset West, Paarl, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban and Bloemfontein. The full list is on the Cup Of Tea Co website (https://cupof.co.za/).

The Cradle of Humankind and Ancient Roots

While the modern city is only about 140 years old, the ground beneath it holds the secrets of humanity’s earliest ancestors. Located just 50 kilometers northwest of the city center is the Cradle of Humankind, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This area contains a complex system of limestone caves, including the famous Sterkfontein Caves, where nearly 40% of all the world’s human ancestor fossils have been discovered.

Significant finds like “Mrs. Ples” (Australopithecus africanus) and the near-complete skeleton of “Little Foot” have provided scientists with crucial evidence about how early hominids walked upright and transitioned into the Homo genus. More recently, in 2013, the discovery of Homo naledi in the Rising Star cave system stunned the scientific community, suggesting that ancient human relatives may have practiced ritualized burial much earlier than previously thought. This proximity to the “birthplace of humanity” gives Johannesburg a unique cultural depth; while it is a city of skyscrapers and high finance, it is also a place where you can stand on the very ground where our species took its first steps.
