LED-Lightbox Rental in Midrand Delivers, Sets up and Collects Light-up Letters, Numbers and Neon-Style Signs for Gauteng Weddings and Year-End Functions

MIDRAND, South Africa – November and December fill Gauteng venues with weddings, 21sts and office year-end functions, and most of them want one bright spot where guests stop for a photograph. LED-Lightbox Rental, a hire company in Midrand, hires out lightboxes, marquee letters and neon-style signs for those nights, and every booking includes delivery, set-up and collection.

Letters, numbers and lightboxes

The marquee range includes 1 m LOVE, MR & MRS, MRS & MRS and MR & MR letters for receptions, plus BABY, PROM, PARTY and CHEERS sets. Lit numbers cover 18, 21, 30, 40, 50 and 60 for birthdays, and giant initials or a full surname set can stand beside a sweetheart table. For the practical side of an evening there are welcome, seating plan, menu and bar lightboxes, a photo booth and a stage backdrop lightbox, and an illuminated entrance arch for larger functions. Neon-style signs include Better Together, Oh Baby, Happy Birthday and Let’s Party, and custom wording can be made to match a theme or a name.

“People choose from photos on their phone, and then the piece goes up in a room far bigger than the one they pictured,” said the company’s set-up supervisor. “A small sign looks lovely beside a cake table in Sandton. In a marquee in Midrand, guests are reading it from across the dance floor, so it has to be taller. We’d rather sort that out on the phone than on the night.”

Power and cables first

Every booking starts with a power check. The venue’s power points need to be close enough to the piece, and the cable route is planned so nothing crosses a busy walkway or lies loose near the dance floor. Outdoor placement works where the surface is level and the unit can be secured, and the crew plans late-night collection for functions that run after hours.

Delivery covers Midrand, Johannesburg, Rosebank, Pretoria, Sandton and Centurion, with Durban and other out of town events planned separately. To book, couples and planners send the date, the venue area, the words or initials, and any notes about narrow lifts or tight loading bays through the LED-Lightbox Rental website.

Constitution Hill: Great African Steps

One of the most moving features of the site is the Great African Steps, a walkway that runs between the dark, stone walls of the Number Four prison and the transparent glass of the new court. It represents the “bridge” between the old South Africa and the new. At the top of these steps, tucked into one of the four remaining stairwells of the demolished Awaiting Trial Block, burns the Flame of Democracy. Lit by Nelson Mandela in 2011 to mark the 15th anniversary of the Constitution, this perpetual flame serves as a constant reminder that the light of freedom must never again be extinguished in Johannesburg.
