Phala Communications

Phala Communications Refurbished!

Phala Communications is a media agency that prides itself in exploiting the gaps within the media management sphere and focuses on the improvement of brand communication efforts within the digital media platforms.

Phala Comms was founded in 2015 with the intention of catering its services to simple/small businesses that require hands on PR operatives. As time went PC closed its doors due to economic strains and we had to go back to the drawing board and create a winning strategy that can withstand any crisis and circumstances.

All polished and ready to go!

Being recognized as a level 1 BBBEE category organization we work on empowering the previously disadvantaged by providing them with needed opportunities and skills. Nakedi Phala being the Brand Director he has an all women team namely Karabo Lubisi who takes in the tasks of Social Media Marketing both internally and externally, Khothatso Rankapole who has a dual role as an Assistant Editor and External Liaison Officer and Nombulelo Langa who is our External Brand Experience Consultant.

We are back and ready to take the media world by storm and reclaim our seat amongst the great!

The Carlton Centre: A Monument of Concrete and Contradiction

Rising 223 meters into the Highveld sky, the Carlton Centre was for nearly half a century the undisputed “king” of the African skyline. Completed in 1973, it held the title of the tallest building in Africa for 46 years—a reign that only ended in 2019 with the completion of The Leonardo in Sandton. It was designed by the prestigious American firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (the same minds behind the Burj Khalifa and Chicago’s Willis Tower), and its brutalist, reinforced concrete design was intended to be a “city within a city,” a symbol of South Africa’s then-booming industrial and mining economy.
