Subaru Southern Africa Elevates Customer Value With Five-Year Maintenance Plan as Its New Standard

25 August 2026 by Con Tributor

The enhanced five-year/105 000 km maintenance cover strengthens Subaru’s ownership proposition, with the option to extend cover to seven years/150 000 km.

Subaru Southern Africa has introduced an enhanced maintenance plan as standard with every new Subaru purchased through its authorised dealer network from 1 August 2026.

The new plan increases standard maintenance cover from three years/75 000 km to five years/105 000 km, adding two years and 30 000 km of cover to every new Subaru ownership package.

Introduced under the campaign theme “Love our new standard”, the enhanced plan forms part of Subaru Southern Africa’s focus on strengthening the value offered throughout the ownership experience.

Combined with the brand’s existing five-year/150 000 km vehicle warranty, the longer maintenance plan provides customers with a more comprehensive standard ownership package while strengthening Subaru’s competitiveness alongside increasingly premium product offerings.

“Moving from three years/75 000 km to five years/105 000 km represents a meaningful enhancement to the value included with every new Subaru,” says Nteo Nkoli, National Marketing Manager at Subaru Southern Africa.

“Our customers are not only investing in a vehicle; they are investing in long-term confidence and peace of mind. By extending our standard maintenance cover, we are making the Subaru ownership proposition more compelling while remaining true to the safety, quality and capability for which Subaru is known.”

Customers seeking longer-term cover will also have the option to extend the maintenance plan by a further two years/45 000 km, providing total maintenance cover of up to seven years/150 000 km.

The maintenance plan includes scheduled servicing and specified wear-and-tear items, including:

  • Brake pads
  • Wiper blades
  • Key batteries
  • Vehicle batteries

Subaru Southern Africa’s five-year/150 000 km vehicle warranty remains unchanged and continues to be included with every new Subaru.

The enhanced maintenance plan applies across the new Subaru range and is included with every new Subaru purchased through the Subaru Southern Africa authorised dealer network from 1 August 2026.

With the introduction of the five-year/105 000 km maintenance plan as its new standard, Subaru Southern Africa is strengthening the overall value of its ownership package while giving customers greater long-term confidence in their vehicle.

Love our new standard.

Museum Africa: Art Collection

The museum’s collection is staggering, housing approximately 850,000 objects that range from the prehistoric to the contemporary. It is one of the few institutions that attempts to tell the story of Southern Africa from the Stone Age to the nuclear age. The “Johannesburg Transformations” exhibition is the museum’s centerpiece, dragging the visitor through the chaotic evolution of the city. It doesn’t shy away from the grime; it features detailed reconstructions of “shack life,” the illegal “shebeens” (speakeasies) of the 1950s, and the vibrant but overcrowded “backyard rooms” that defined the black urban experience during Apartheid. One of its most sobering permanent displays is the “Tried for Treason” exhibit, which meticulously documents the 1956 Treason Trial. Visitors can see the portraits of all 156 accused—including Nelson Mandela, Walter Sisulu, and Albertina Sisulu—and read the “little red books” placed beneath each photo, where the public is invited to write their own reflections and facts about these liberation icons.

Deep within the museum’s labyrinthine halls, you’ll find specialized branches that are world-class in their own right. The Bensusan Museum of Photography sits on the top floor, acting as a shrine to the visual history of the continent. It contains everything from rare 19th-century daguerreotypes to the legendary photojournalism of the Drum magazine era. Meanwhile, the Geology Museum houses over 17,000 specimens, including a definitive collection of the rocks and minerals that made Johannesburg possible. It is a place where you can see the actual gold-bearing conglomerate reefs of the Witwatersrand up close, stripped of their commercial value and presented as scientific wonders.
