On a Sunday morning, Maboneng is perhaps the most diverse place in South Africa. You will see Ethiopian coffee ceremonies happening next to artisanal gin bars, and Zulu dancers performing in the street while international tourists browse through vintage vinyl. It is a microcosm of the “New South Africa”—messy, vibrant, occasionally precarious, but undeniably alive.
