MyPR: Eaton appoints Thameri Gounder as Regional Financial Controller for Africa:

Eaton, a global power management company with manufacturing and distribution sites in South Africa, has appointed Thameri Gounder to the role of Regional Financial Controller, Africa Region, effective from 1 July 2020.

In this role, Thameri will be responsible for partnering with the business to drive sales growth, improve cost structure, productivity and profitability. She will also direct the activities of the finance function in accordance with prescribed policies and procedures and build organisational capability within the finance team.

“I’m honoured to be joining one of the world’s most admired companies at a time when there’s such significant scope for growth in the energy sector,” Gounder says. “I’m looking forward to contributing to Eaton’s growth on the African continent, and to building momentum for the company’s women empowerment initiatives.”

Thameri has a BCom in Economics & Business Management and brings a wealth of experience gained from the manufacturing sector. Some of her previous responsibilities include improving controls, providing financial analysis, managing the financial reporting, forecasting and leading the budgeting cycle. She joins Eaton from Honeywell, where she was Finance Leader for Sub-Saharan Africa, tasked with leading, coordinating and driving the financial performance of that region.

“Thameri’s experience in the manufacturing sector, along with her understanding of directing and driving financial performance across a region position her extremely well to take on this leadership role,” says Seydou Kane, managing director of Eaton for Africa. “Her appointment is also in line with Eaton’s commitment to focus on greater women empowerment, and I’m confident that she’s going to inspire colleagues and peers with her leadership and inclusive approach to management.”
