You will see Ethiopian coffee ceremonies happening next to artisanal gin bars, and Zulu dancers performing in the street while international tourists browse through vintage vinyl. It is a microcosm of the “New South Africa”—messy, vibrant, occasionally precarious, but undeniably alive. It proved that the “City of Gold” didn’t need to dig deeper into the earth to find value; it just needed to look at its own abandoned streets with a bit of imagination.
